When you remove the muzzle brake of my post-ban-style Armalite upper before threading it to accept a flash suppressor, how exactly would you do that?  Will the barrel length remain the same?  I was wondering if you would just cut the barrel right behind the brake and then thread that (which seems like it would result in a slightly shorter barrel).  Mine has a 20" inch barrel, and I was wondering whether that length could be maintained or if it would have to be shortened a bit in the removal of the brake.  Thank you.

It will remain a 20" barrel.
