Can anyone supply a full set of specs on the CMMG 4SA that CDNN is selling? Price looks attractive, but not a lot of info in the ad.
Thanks, Sundance |

Page 36 on their 2010-1 catalog has a lot of details. The CMMG page shows common specs. CMMG is good to go on their weapons.

Be warned! This is not a heavy barrel as advertised!
The barrel is actually a 16" government profile, with a 1:9 twist and WASP coating. The rifle itself is absolutely beautiful, and everything else is as advertised. The only problem is that I had my heart set on a heavy-barreled 16" mid-length rifle, and got a government profile barrel by mistake. After receiving my rifle this morning, and spending quite some time on the phone with CDNN today, I was politely informed that my definition of "Heavy Barrel" was incorrect, and that their ad only references the visible portion of the barrel from the gas block forward, and not the portion of the barrel underneath the handguards. Basically, they were saying that since there was not the M4 notch, it was considered a heavy barrel. I tried to explain the difference between a heavy barrel and a government profile barrel, but was then informed that this was also incorrect. If I had wanted to order a true " Heavy Barrel", I would have instead needed to order the "Heavy BULL Barrel", as shown in the ad right above this rifle. They even went so far as to comment that they had sold many of these rifles in the past, and I am the only one to have called to complain, so therefore I must be wrong... I even made the effort to contact CMMG directly, who confirmed that CDNN has ordered both government profile and HBAR models in the past, and that it sounds like they shipped the wrong item. After communicating this with CDNN, they still continued their claim that their ad was correct, and that it was my definition of "Heavy Barrel" that was the problem. I did not have a chance to the Sales Manager directly, but I will be calling them again tomorrow morning. Other than the misunderstanding regarding the definition of "Heavy Barrel", they were very polite to work with. We've already discussed a few alternatives on how to get this resolved, but no decision has been made yet. I was also very happy with the customer service when placing the original order, so was very surprised to have this problem today. Please help me out here, guys... Is my definition of "Heavy Barrel" correct, and do you think it's worth arguing over? Thanks! ** Update ** It looks like I'll be keeping the rifle, even though it's not the heavy barrel that I wanted. CDNN did their best to make things right, even though they still claim that there's a difference between a "Heavy Barrel" and a "Full Heavy Barrel". Overall, I'm very happy with the rifle, and do plan to order from CDNN again in the future. Kudos to CMMG for making such a nice rifle!!! |
