What forge mark did your CMMG upper come with?  Mine has a square, same as my detachable carry handle (BAF - Brass Aluminum Forging) I presume.  Seems this is a relatively new marke, at least to me.  Is their product on part with say a Cerro or other forge?

Did you get that upper from CMMG? Mine has a keyhole Cerro forge mark. So far the only uppers I've seen so far with the Brass Aluminum Forge (square) mark is Delton, and Tony's Custom Uppers.

I actually purchased it from a seller on the EE who claimed that it was from a CMMG upper.  I really don't have any proof of that either way, other than his word.  I'm just curious because I got a good deal on a detachable carry handle with the same forge mark.  Anyway, they both assembled fine but I haven't had a chance to shoot with it yet.  Anyway, I just happend to see this same forge mark on a Colt upper so it must be something new.   Here is the pic of the Colt upper I found online.

If the receiver were a CMMG it should have an "M" above the cloverleaf port where the gas tube enters the receiver and an "L" on the rear take down lug (LAR). That is based on my CMMG upper. If the barrel is a CMMG it will have a silver colored crush washer behind the muzzle break. The barrel would also be stamped on the underside of the barrel under the handguard. My FSC (front sight) is "F" marked on one side with a "B" in an elongated hex box followed by the number 1.

both my CMMG's have a keyhole marked upper and an M stamped into front of receiver where gas tube enters it. Also has F marked fsb with a (B)2 mark on it also. The barrels on my two are the 1/9 type so they are marked CMMG WASP 1/9  5.56 NATO. Theydo not have a silver crush washer though.

I ordered it on April 21,2009.

Here is a link to a BCM page.  If you enlarge the picture you can see that the upper receiver that BCM is using on this is a square mark.

Is there rough machine marks on the inside of the receiver?

Does anyone else have an upper like this?  I have one and the machining on the inside of the receiver left a rough finish.  It doesn't seem to affect the function, but it is very annoying.  When i operate the bolt it sounds like there's someone in Corduroy pants walking by.  I bought the complete upper from Feararmory.com who advertised it as a CMMG upper.  The barrel is marked CMMG, but i don't know how to tell if it's CMMG's upper.  I'm about to buy a different upper and rebuild it.
