I have an 18" 762 OBR on order, currently in the queue with the CTR w/riser and surefire muzzlebrake... Plan on using it mainly for precision shooting although it may see some tactical course use as well.  I am looking for some input on the pros n cons of those two stocks.  I'm 6'3 and I tend to run my stock on my N4 almost all the way out  even in CQB scenarios... Thanks in advance for your two cents.

My opinion is if you plan on using it for some "runnin and gunnin", you'll appreciate the CTR more than the PRS.    If all you're going to do is lay prone and shoot then the PRS is a good choice.

If it were me, I'd stick with the order you got!

I think I would stick with what you got.  I have both (I need to get a RISR...Its my own fault that I have not yet).  As it has already been noted, the PRS is great if you are going to be laying in the prone, but if you plan to do any run'n'gun, the CTR with the RISR is the answer.

Additionally, you should consider the weight factor and what the PRS does to the balance of your Rifle.  I have mine on a 20" OBR Lite and that balances out the weight distribution.  The PRS is a heavy stock and it is designed that way.  Likewise the CTR is very light and will leave more of the weight balance in the forward area of your rifle.

Lastly, if you are moving around and doing any shoot and move, while you mentioned that you keep your stock all the way out, the telescoping feature is something that I think you will truly appreciate.

Just my .02

I agree with the other two posters above have already mentioned.  If the rifle is going to see any sort of tactical action, I'd definitely not hesitate to go with the CTR.

PRS = Problem Remembering Shit
CRS = Can't Remember Shit

What is this thread about?

I have both the CTR/RISR and PRS stocks and they both have their place. As noted the PRS adds balance when shooting off-hand. The extra weight doesn't bother me because I know going in the OBR + PRS + Long-Range Optic + Harris Pipod is NOT going to be a light-weight run-and-gun setup. This is My long-range confirguration and how it is when it sits in my safe.

IF I want to run it as a "Battle Rifle" then I pull off the scope, slap on the T-1, swap to the CTR/RISR and I'm gtg. The whole procedure takes maybe five minutes. Honestly ... I'm not rich enough to run the 7.62 in a class on a regular basis so it doesn't spend much time in that configuration.

Bottom Line: As usual .... get both!

I had a PRS on my AR10 and switched to the CTR w/ RISR. I like it better now; much more versatile.  You will be happy either way.
