Do you need a cow-witnes on a carry handle M4 or use the top of the carry handle like a scope

I prefer to have a co-witness if at all possible, but if you mount to the top of the carry handle like that pictures it's pretty much impossible.





However, if you get one of the "z" style mounts it adds a picatinny rail that drops down in front of the carry handle and gets the scope low enough that you might be able to get a co-witness, or at least get the scope low enough so the cheek weld is comfortable. That would be my preference on a carry handle setup.

Surefire makes a nice gooseneck rail.  You've gotta cut a new slot forward of the one they provide, but it'll work perfectly with a Strikefire in a low mount.
