The last 6920s I have seen in stores haven't had carry handles, but the basic model is pictured with one here

Do they not come with them anymore?  I kind of want another 6920 and keep the carry handle on it.  My only other Colt was a 6920MP-B which didn't come with one.  I'm sure I could pull the one from the M16A4 clone, when it comes out, but I am impatient.

Should I just try to get one on the EE?  If so, how do you tell the difference between the Colt carry handles and other brands?

Sorry if this has been covered, I searched.

They aren't coming with carry handles any more.

Once removed from the rifle, your not going to be able to tell a Colt carry handle apart from any other quality in-spec carry handle.  So if you get one used, get it from a trusted source.

I was picking up USGI carry handles at gun shows for around $30

All of them stolen.

They dont get surplused, as they are still part of the rifle BII, though newer rifles get BUIS from the factory.

The only way to ID a genuine Colt 6920 Carbine handle is to disassemble the sight from the handle.
My Colt handle is stamped under the sight with "C4" which I take to mean "Colt M4".
The mold marks on the handle mean nothing.  Colt and most other makers get the forgings from the same sources.

Best source of genuine handles is right here on the Equipment Exchange.  Buy from a good rated buyer, and if he says it's a take-off it probably is.
Make sure you buy a 600 meter Carbine sight.
Beware of Ebay.  Much of what's sold is not genuine Colt or even in the condition listed.

Prove it.

It's the same exact handle that comes off a 6920.

I agree with the members here and the only way to make sure you have a genuine Colt detachable carry handle is by looking under the leaf spring of the sight aperture, which means you have to disassemble the sight by removing the roll pin from the windage knob, remove the windage screw, remove the leaf spring and look under the noted spring.

My last three detachable carry handles from my LE6920 2012 model, SP6920 2011 model, and AR6721 (HBAR heavy barrel) 2010 model, which I bought those same noted years have the square forge markings which means the raw forge was made by Brass Aluminum Forging Enterprises in Ferndale, MI, I opened all these three from the sealed box at my local dealer when I picked them up so I know they were not switched.

But I also got burned once from a carry handle I bought in 2005 that have very rough forge flash inside the carry handle, it was on my new AR6721 made in 2002 carbine forge marked "splintered A (Anchor Harvey) and letter B" it have a letter H under the sight spring.

Yes, it is..... A table with a few new ones that also sells other Colt stuff? OK.

But no other Colt parts? Used? Rack numbers? Asking price much less then the wholesale? Every Military Arms room with M4/M4A1s has boxes of extra carry handles, handguards, RASs, "Gangster grips", all of them unaccounted for....

Most carry handles have a forge mark to ID the company that made the forging.  The forge company doesn't make finished handles, they just make the raw forging.
Many rifles also have these forge marks to ID the company that made the raw upper and lower forgings.

As example, my Colt LE6920 has a "Keyhole" forge mark on the lower and on the upper.
My carry handle has a "Square" company mark.  Other forging companies are identified by the "Broken A", and the "Cardinal" mark.  There are others.
