I am looking for one of these
Nightforce Cat tail Obviously I have found what I am looking for but I am a rabid supporter of all things Larue so I wanted to see if they made anything NF specific, 2.5-10x32 more specifically. I looked on the site but couldn't find them, may not have used the correct term in the search box. any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance ~HSP |

At one point I think they planned to make something like that but never made it commercially available. Chris over at 3GS will hook you up, he's good people. Thanks for the reply and also thanks for letting me know 3GS is GTG. It always helps when I know I can buy with confidence. ~HSP |

So, I emailed Chris and asked about how long it would take to get one since i am deploying here in a couple weeks and not only did he give me the mil pricing which saved me more than a few bucks and includes shipping but he told me that he would ship it out today and for me to mail him a check in the next few days. That is the kind of service that gains positive reviews and repeat business. Sorta like one of those other companies that bend over backwards to help people out around here. ~HSP |

Those are Charles Drissel Cat Tails.. He makes some good ones. I sent in my scope to him to have one made up so he would have a template.. and it was perfect. He's on this forum if you want to see more on his cat tails.

LaRue made a few at one point, but decided to discontinue them because of the fact that what they made was too similar to other products that were already made by other people. They wanted their line to remain distinctive, IIRC. There are only a couple ways to do it, and no way to make their product stand above all others other than the name. Good on them. |
| Old news.. ML made a very awesome one.. but since they found it wasn't original and didn't want to step on toes, he decided that he wouldn't go that direction.. at least that's what I understand about it. There's a old post about it, probably in the archives by now. |

LaRue makes cat tails but only for the Leupold MK-whatever scopes (not sure the exact model(s)), but does not sell them individually. They are available though. Only fit Leupold Mark 4 Illumnianted Recticle scopes I found a couple of these on the ee last night. LT698. 1 of them will be inbound shortly. Oops. |

I have 3 of them so I know they are a work of art. I'm impressed how they fit on. He's got it down to a art. Good to hear that you are impressed. I had a pretty big hand in their design. In fact, I had to threaten Charlie with bodily harm to get them done. He did after all have both my Short Dot and 5-25... Chris is good people. |

He modeled my Accupoint.. no threatening required. |

And some "Not so Illuminated" Mark 4 models! http://www.usualsuspect.net/forums/picture.php?albumid=2399&pictureid=36771 http://www.usualsuspect.net/forums/picture.php?albumid=2399&pictureid=36769 care to elaborate? And I ordered one of these cat tails for my Loopy CQ/T. that bugger is particularly difficult to switch power on. The seller is very communicative and I will get my cat tail in a day or two. $75 seems a bit steep, but I am sure it will be worth it. My 4.5 -14 X50 ill ret Loopy has a LT device on it |

I still think it would be cool to see one made by LaRue with the dillo tail kink in the tail. Exactly what I was thinking... and it'd be nice if they weren't $75... but I can understand why it was discontinued for it's lack of uniqueness and identifiability. |

So, that is at least one non-illuminated Mark4 that the LT lever will work on. BRC |
| my cat tail arrived today. VEry well machined with smoothe edges and mil spec anodizing and blacked out Stainless screws. Fit my CQ/T perfectly. Excellent product. The LT one I installed on my 4.5-14 50mm ill ret Mk4 has a better 'bite' with the projection , but they both are top notch devices. |
