Maybe a silly question, but have you noticed any degradation in accuracy when changing muzzle devices? I would think that, for example, removing an AK brake and replacing it with a Phantom would change the barrels harmonics and thus change point of impact, but would it effect the accuracy of the barrel? What has your experience been?

Yes - actually its common for hotter loads to not be as accurate as loads just a bit lighter.

Steve, thanks for jumping in!

I'm a bit baffled by your response as it seems to pertain to loads rather than the actual equipment. As a handloader for most of my weapons, I can appeciate that a rifle may prefer a certain load over another, but that doesn't mean that the barrel has a change, its the ammo. Are you saying that a brake, such as the AK, as it directs gases, may have an impact on velocity, as opposed to a FH such as a Phantom? AK= lower velocity, FH= higher velocity with the same load?

Sorry, I thought I read you were shortening the barrel = lower velocity. My bad.

Steve, have you noticed an adverse effect on accuracy when a weapon has its muzzle device changed? I have a 14.5" H Bar with an AK brake that shoots honest to God one hole groups off the bench that I want to have you put a Phantom on. I'm worried that it will screw up the performance of this weapon. (If it ain't broke don't fix it!) But I have no idea what this change will do. What has your experience been with this?

I'm sure the poi will change, no biggie. just don't want the groups to open much...
