| Just ordered one from Torrey at Capitol Armory. They've got them in stock again. This'll be my second factory SBR. Everything else is a form 1. Figured I needed another Colt AR and couldn't think of a better one. |

Mine finally cleared in December. Here she is with my November Colt purchase...
I swapped the trigger for a Geissele G2S I got from AAC, stuck a Surefire FH mount on there, LMT rear, and a Larue mounted T2. |

I'm in the process of redoing my 6933.
When I first got it a few years ago I started out with a TA31 RCO on a Larue mount, three-prong Surefire flashider, Daniel Defense Omega rail, Magpul CTR stock then I ordered a black Surefire SOCOM556-RC suppressor. Then I got bit by the Mk18 bug really bad and was able to actually cancel my order on the black Surefire can and ordered a tan one instead. I sold off the rail, ACOG and stock to fund the rest of the parts. I got a Mk18 upper built by Ken Elmore at SAW with the whole works, DD RIS II, four-prong Surefire flashider, tear drop forward assist, KAC irons and I mounted a tan EOTech XPS3-0 on it. Also had a tan Surefire Scout light on there with a TD grip and flashlight switch and a tan Gen 1 Sopmod stock. Really the only thing I was missing on it was a tan PEQ-15. I had that upper for several years but I think I enjoyed tracking down all the parts and getting the upper assembled more than shooting it. With all that junk on it, plus the can, the whole thing was kind of a front-heavy pig. To get back to basics and go with an upper that was more pleasurable to shoot I took my original 11.5" 6933 upper out of the safe and ordered a ordered a TA33 with BOBRO mount and went back to the CTR stock to save a little weight over the Sopmod. I'm even back to the old slim-line plastic handguards too. Everything about this rifle I just want to be lightweight and fun to shoot. I don't even plan on shooting it suppressed all that much. Ofcourse I've still got my Mk18 SAW upper, don't plan on getting rid of that anytime soon just because of how difficult it was to track down some of those parts. I did however mail back the EOTech to take advantage of the buy-back program to help pay for the TA33. Once I get my ACOG on and get everything pieced together I'll put up some pics. |

Perfect. I love the old Mk18 Mod 0 spec, on a Commando length barrel, but damn if that isn't just tits. Veh nahce.

Seems the best bet is to buy the upper, and then Form 1 a lower. Form 1's are electronic, and last one I had took 3 mos, v. a paper Form 4 taking 11 mos.
Quick question for those with a 6933 Commando: Is the barrel gas block a standard .750? I had seen that earlier Colt used a .625 profile. |

Got mine from Howard Block (JB Arms) just before he passed away (RIP good guy). Mine was previously gently used by Henderson, NV PD (which is fine, because I used to collect PD guns). It came with the original Colt box and accessory package.

Not a true 6933, but it is a factory Commando 11.5" upper on an M4-marked Colt lower. I wanted more of an "old school" look so I went with a Knight's RASII, Lone Star Ordnance A1 PG and 1st gen VLTOR Clubfoot stock.

My new 6933 upper from AU was delivered last night. It has the Colt cage code (never seen that, my older Colts all had a "C") next to the square forge mark. Barrel dated 5/18 along with all the expected MPC marked bolt. I'm running this one as a pistol on a Brownells Colt M4 Carbine lower and SBA3 pistol brace & MOE K2 grip. The anodizing of the upper and lower are a perfect match and this is the best Colt I've owned so far regarding slop between the receivers. |

Although I am a fan of the fixed carry handle guns, this comes with one of those new fangled flat top uppers which means I had to put a bunch of stuff on it. Knight's rail and vertical fore grip, SOPMOD stock, AWC suppressor, Holosun optic, Matech FUBUIS, Surefire light. My 5.5 pound carbine now weighs like 10 pounds. At any rate, my friend wanted to shoot it, so.....

From what I've read/heard, the 6933 has a rather large gas port, in comparison to the FBI spec 11.5. I've been debating on modernizing my 6933 some (Free float handguard, light, optic and suppressor) but have been hesitant due to the larger gas port. Was considering doing the reduced gas insert for the gas block but haven't made up my mind. |

JohnnyUtah427: Very nice rifle as is! The FBI spec is .069-.070 (FBI Heavy barrel). The gas port size I wouldn't be able to touch but rather the gas block size, there are some methods to drill/tap the gas blocks to reduce the size there.
