First time I filed a paper form 4, eform 4 was not available at the time and I waited 17 months before I was disapproved. I refiled a few months later with the new eform 4 and was approved in 9 months. |

Short-barreled, rifles or rifles with a barrel less than 16 inches are regulated under the national firearms act or NFA. You have to pay a $200 tax submit, fingerprints and some forms to the ATF. They have to approve the transfer. Sometimes this can take a great deal of time waiting. Check out the armory section here on the forum. There is a great deal of information about the NFA there. |

I recently had a few that took less than three months. There were five (4 SBR's and 1 suppressor) outstanding from different submission dates. Apparently they got to the oldest one and then processed all the others at the same time. What happens if the gun store goes bankrupt or out of business during those 2 1/2 years. I have no idea how this works is why I am asking. I've never seen anything official on that, but I do have a similar example. A gun store local to me was sold. The lady who works there handling the NFA paperwork said that an ATF agent came by and told her that he'd get everything processed so they could change over to the new FFL. He somehow got all the outstanding Form 4's done within a week. |

I get all that, Im still curios what happens to the gun thats "in jail" when the LGS closes their doors or goes bankrupt. I wanted to buy a new Colt AR-15A2 Machine gun from a LGS for $25,000, but just couldn't see me giving them the 25K, waiting a year wondering what might happen if they closed their doors before the stamp got approved. Thats basically my question. |

Thats about it, I paid for the gun and they sent my MO, prints and forms to the ATF. I was told if a store closes they can contact the ATF and they fast track it. They did offer to refund my purchase price when the first form was disapproved, but I wanted the gun more than the money so I waited it out. |

Thats basically my question. You're over thinking it. They can't just take off with your stuff or else it would be a felony. The ATF would have to get involved and work with the owner to get them processed. You missed a good deal on that rifle. |

A few question on current production 6933s: 1) current production are laser engraving “carbine” correct? 2) do all current production models have selector stops? 3) is the current barrel the “hybrid” profile that use the pencil barrel with .75 diameter at the gas block area?(I want to use a larue gas block) |

So ended up picking up a late model double bullet 6933, it’s in jail, it’s in jail but it’s got a bunch of crap on it; anyone have a line on the following parts in NOS or near NOS condition: -Colt double heat shield handguards with the “glue” showing on the heat shield tabs -Colt pre cage code waffle stock -Colt fat a2 grip -Colt square forge carry handle |
