I’m often told ‘roll marks are yesterday’. Typically just prior to a buy offer. The lure isn’t in the engraving anyway. It’s the history of the engraving. My Commando is still in detention but I appreciate seeing all the success. For pure aesthetics, this rollmark is my favorite. Attached File |

I received mine and am pretty happy with it. -Slapped on a new CAGE 17384 (Star-glo industries I believe) pistol grip and a surplus waffle stock. -I only replaced the grip because the one it came with wasn't F marked and just looked a little cheaper (and I am a sucker for CAGE codes,lol). -Never seen a "G" marked hammer before, happy that it isn't notched. -Short safety lever was CAGE marked. https://imgur.com/a/iEPF0KN |

| I got through to AU. My order was changed because I never had my SOT send there paperwork into AU. I wrongly assumed AU had my dealers SOT because they had there FFL paperwork. Because I never sent in my SOTs paperwork and live in a state run by criminals I think AU assumed i ordered a NFA one by mistake. My SOT will be doing a form 2 to make it a SBR. no big deal. |
| When AU sent the Black Friday email dropping these to $500 I ordered two as title 1 receivers since the last time I was at my FFL back in 2023 I was told they were no longer a class 3 dealer. When I went in to pick them up I asked if that was still the case and was told that they were again a class 3 dealer, so when I got home that evening I ordered two more as SBRs. My form 4s were submitted on 1/7 and approved on 1/14 and I picked them up tonight. Went with an 11.5” monolithic upper for one and an 11.5” M5 upper for the other. Still need to order buttstocks, pistol grips, and sights to finish them but so far I’m very happy. |

No it doesnt have to be engraved. ATF Final Rule 2021R-05F introduced the ability to adopt manufacturer markings for firearms that had not yet entered commerce Newly manufactured firearms: Licensed manufacturers may adopt the serial number and other identifying markings previously placed on a firearm by another licensed manufacturer provided the firearm has not been sold, shipped, or otherwise disposed of to a person other than a licensee, and the serial number adopted is not duplicated on any other firearm. My sot has to file a form 2 then they can submit my form 4. It delays me getting it only. |

Now the lower will not be registered as a COLT mfgr lower and instead will be the gun shop that is converting it to an SBR... just because AU was lazy and thinks it's customers aren't worth the time. |

There are examples of Colt RO733s with the bayonet lug out there. I also like the barrel profile on the H&R better. The RO733s were a slightly heavier profile forward of the front sight base and didn't have a step at the muzzle like the 14.5" and 20" Colt lightweight barrels did. |

I haven't seen a factory Colt 733 with a bayonet lug. The 5x 733 parts kits I've had over the years all lacked the bayonet lug and had a pencil barrel. I didn't see the difference in barrel profile on the PSA kit - in that case I'd go with the Brownell's kit and shave off the FSB. Here's an original Colt factory 733 parts kit I had a few years ago when Botach was selling them (with a few department-specific changes - the pistol grip, end plate, and selector):
