Off the top of my head, I've had an NXS 2.5-10x24; several iterations of Vortex 1-4 / 1-6x; Aimpoint M4S, and some others over the years. Currently have a Leupold VX-6 1-6X w/CMR2 on it which I'm reasonably happy with - got it at a great price at the time and I don't shoot it often enough for me to love it or come to hate it. For me a 308 SBR can use either a RDS or LPVO if you have one you like. My eyes appreciate magnified optics for stuff beyond 100 yards these days, so only 556 / 9MM SBRs have RDS / magnifier options on them. Everything else has LPVOs (NX-8s are a favorite of mine on 556 rifles). I would like to put a ATACR 1-8 on the SCAR but can't justify the $2500-3K all in cost to make that move for new optic / new mount / ammo to zero & get it 'just right'. |

Malfunction update Have not gone out a third time but let me post some pics of targets from my second outing with only 1 malfunction out of 60 rounds fired. I know every time there is a internet post of someone's .50 MOA or better tells me we have some excellent shooters. Optic used is Primary Arms Micro Prism 3X NO bag or bipod used only the magazine as monopod. 100 yards 6 round group. I should have used a reference point but guessing on the same hold in the gray. PMC Bronze .308  100 yards MEN 7.62x51, 5 round group.

| Received my conversion kit today from AU. It appears these are not current production kits due to same style of packaging and also my package was coming apart from the glued seamed edges. I know its hot in AZ and NV but they must have been sitting for a while. |

Ordered mine Tuesday and it still shows awaiting payment, they told me they were backed up and it would not ship until next week. | My conversion kit arrived today, and I am pleasantly surprised at how well it fits. The upper I used fit nice and tight with no slop, and it was quite easy to install. Rather than the cardboard card like the old kits, mine came in a small hard plastic package with the spring bent in a U shape to make it fit in the package. Date was 6/28/24 on the Colt label with the SP99415 part number. |

Colt CM762 update, This is the third time out with my Colt CM762 and I'm checking for reliability using different magazines and ammo. Today was a hot one this afternoon and I only shot 55 rounds. The ammo used is the same from my previous post except for AAC 150 GR FMJ. I used the 25 round PMAG Gen 3 and a new magazine I just purchased. I wanted the old school look so I bought the DURAMAG 20 round steel magazine which I used primarily. The Colt CM762 performed with no malfunctions and the DURAMAG worked excellent. The DURAMAG fit in the magwell easily at full capacity and it dropped free when empty. There were no issues with feeding, chambering and the rifle locked back on last round. In my first post I talked about issues with the Colt even when I had cleaned and lubed prior to range time. I had 4 to 5 malfunctions from fail to feed, fail to strip a round from magazine and lock back on the last round. On the second range session I had one malfunction which was fail to chamber a round. After that second range trip I cleaned and lubed my rifle and notice it felt much smoother and the charging handle did not feel so stiff when pulling back. I only shot limited rounds but at least this third time out the gun cycled smooth and no malfunctions. 7/21/24, I have installed a Geissele SSA trigger but not have been out yet. The original trigger is about 7 lbs. and on the trigger gauge its average is 6.5 lbs.

I have not heard from anyone here about their experience with their CM762. Stop with the safe queens and go out and shoot.  Went out again on Sunday 8/11/24 to shoot 50 more rounds. CM762 worked flawless so if your on the fence about getting one due too my first post don't worry just get one. Geissele SSA trigger worked great, just had to order the longer pins from Geissele that advertised for the Colt 901.
