I would like to get some opinions on a Colt 6920HB as a collectors piece. Do you think these will go up in value.

Tough call, tex.

First impression is, no, since it is visually the same rifle as the 6920, and only a Sharpie "HB" on the box (and the letter of course) to denote its' uniqueness.

Plus, SAW sold additional 6920HB uppers, and they both sold at high prices to begin with (the Special Edition rifle and the complete upper).

But some Colt ARs have commanded significant returns, so I suppose it could be one of those special cases.

Thanks Redfisher,
I agree if the receiver had been marked "HB" or even the box it would be an easier call.

It appeals to me because it is a bit of a rareity among an already very desireable rifle.
I like the socom heavy barrel.

Most people on this forum care more for shooting than collecting and I feel the same way. The 6920Hb is one that I would put back NIB and not shoot. You never know about Colt collectors when it comes NIB and rareity. With 6920's going for $1500 at the moment $700 more is not that much of a strech.
Thanks again for your response.

I shoot the shit out of my 6920HB, but I don't shoot shit out of it (no Wolf).  It may be a collector, but that's not why I have one. . .

I can understand that but I have another 6920 that SAW built up for me that I do STSOO and also do not SSOOI.
I am glad you responded so how does it shoot?
