Colt 901 > Colt > AR15.COM

I just got a Colt 901... sweet gun can`t wait to sight her in.... I did notice that the barrel said C MP 308 Win 1/12 on it. Will the rifle fire both 308 and 7.62x51?

Yes, think of a .308 barrel like a 5.56 barrel. .308 is like 5.56 and 7.62 is like .223

As long as the barrel is marked .308 it can shoot 7.62.

.308 is the higher pressure round.

.308 is higher pressure than 7.62? But 5.56 is hotter than .223? I thought the NATO loadings were hotter, but maybe I'm having a bad case of CRS today.

Yep, general info says NATO is higher pressure in 5.56 and lower pressure in 7.62....
10,000 psi difference between .308 and 7.62 if I remover correctly.
Some say that when you look at how the pressures are tested, 7.62 and .308 are actually about the same.

You'll love it. Been shooting irons on mine, now I have a USO fixed 10X, just need to go zero. Going the DMR route with mine.
