I have the chance to buy a Colt 9MM lower with the large pivot pin (screw type) and I am trying to find out some information on whether or not it will fit one of the newer style 6450 uppers. All of my Colt stuff is newer, so I am not sure about the details of the old stuff. I have a newer complete 6450 upper and I cannot remember what is involved to be able to use the older style lower with it. It seems like I remember there was an adapter, but not sure. Also, any issues/differences with the hammers in the older style lowers?
Are there any other differences between the older lowers and the new Colt 6450 lowers? Thanks for the help! |

There is an adapter. Plenty of places sell them. I am looking, but my search skills are weak tonight. I don't suppose you have a link anywhere do you? Is there any way to do away with the screw entirely and just have a standard pivot pin? Also, what about the color? Would it be safe to say that the color on this lower will be the older Colt gray instead of the newer deep black anodizing? |

That doesn't mean you can't find uppers that will match and also be large hole. I just sold a large hole preban grey Colt flattop, just sayin... Like it was said above... finishes won't match, but does it matter? |
