Repost from the pistol caliber/rimfire section.

First off, don't flame me because I forgot my camera. I had my brother and father-in-law along for the trip and everyone was bringing a pile of guns, so in the pile of black balistic nylon gun cases, we forgot a camera.

Weather was sunny and cool, but very windy. It was so windy in fact that it blew my brand new unfired gun out of the wooden gun rack and onto the concrete. I fired 360 rounds of various 9mm ammo using the 2 factory 20 round mags. First shots hit a touch low @25 yards. Adjusted the front sight up a click or two and went to town. The recoil was about on par with 5.56 ammo, but felt different. Very easy to control and keep the very light weapon on target. Fired at 50, 100, and 200 yards with no problem. I was able to hit a propane cylinder at 200 yards by holding a touch high. Overall, I am pleased with my new range toy. It fed every single round without a hitch. I was surprised because I had head the some 9mms don't feed hollowpoints well. I shot a mixed bag of Federal Hydrashock, Winchester silvertip. Speer Gold Dot, Remington Golden Saber ,and who knows what other kinds of ammo was in the bag including some crusty looking old lead round nose ammo. For those that like to bump fire I tried that too, just for kicks. No problem. Another thing that surprised me was considering the 9mm AR is a blowback weapon, it was no dirtier than any other AR. In fact, the bolt was almost spotless, except for a little carbon.

Where's the pics?!?

Just kidding.  Good range report.  I've been thinking about a 6450 with a Gem-Tech upper and suppressor. . . .

Sorry about the lack of pics. I'll put some up soon next time I go to the range. I'm pretty sure I'll SBR the 9mm at some point and and either cut down the factory barrel or go with one of the TROS lug barrels. I really like the simplicity of the A1 sights, but I much prefer the flatop and and my Aimpoint. Shooting irons on my 20" A2 is fine, but I find the sight picture a touch too short on the carbine. As for a silencer, I was thinking SWR Trident or AAC Evo 9.

The COLT 6450  is a nice gun. I have 2 one a short barreled rifle and a a 6450 both have never missed a beat. Sorry about the weather in Maryland, don't worry it will warm up at the end of MAY. I know I moved from MARYLAND NOT (MERRYLAND) IN 1996. For some reason people in maryland  believe it's not cold there, but the day time temperature is colder there than denver colorado in the winter.  Sorry your behind the lines. Life's short  have fun..
