[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Colt BCG Question---Help Me Out

I just looked at a new 2013 LE6920 and a 2013 LE6920 Magpul edition and the BCGs looked totally different in the finish. They were both marked the same and are obviously Colts, but one was pretty smooth and the other was very textured feeling. Why the difference?

One is new, the other possiblely a used bcg.

They were both definitely new. They just really looked different.

Not sure. I also have an Le 6920. It might be possible a BCG was swapped a different manufacture.

I've seen pics of Colt bolt carriers with a really rough, uneven, gnarly surface finish before, it's not that uncommon.
