| I have a Match Target Hbar that i would like to put a different stock on and some different handgaurds on. What are the options? I what to be able to shorten the stock when i am in the boat with a lifevest on and be able to put a different sling on also. I do not want to tear apart the barrel to put handguards on. It serial is a CMH upper 7,000 with a 1/7 barrel. I got it for $850 new if i remember right. Also what complete upper would drop right on? Need something a little shorter when i chase bears or moose into the brush. A little long but Thanks for any comments. It shoots everything i feed it very well. |

You can put any stock you want on the lower. I would recommend the LMT Crane stock assembly. I love mine! A LOT of people love Magpul as well. As for a complete upper group which you can switch back and fourth... Keep in mind that it cannot be any shorter than a 16" barrel unless you register that lower receiver as an SBR. I think AK is a NFA friendly state, but you should probably do some checking before seriously considering going down the NFA path. I personally stick to Colt's, however they cost quite a bit more than the others. If you want to save a little money I would go with a Rock River Arms (RRA) or Lewis Machine Tool (LMT). From what I've read they are both great upper groups. I have a Colt M16A1 RR and I switch between a 14.5" M4 upper and a 11.5" upper. I have two Vicker's slings one for each upper and they snap on an off real nicely with the lower, so it's a piece of cake going between the two of them. If you can afford it get a Colt LE6920 upper group. I would go to that link and pick a new one up from Specialized Armament. Hope this helps! |
