Usually by the date printed on the bag the gun came packaged in. Look very carefully and you will see a month and year. That usually gives an idea when it was mfg. BTW, weren't you the one I exchanged emails with sometime back about you looking for an LE6920 and I recommended Clyde's? If so, how long were you on the list till you received one? |

I think that is April 05. Mine initially looked like April 03, but on closer examination it was just a poorly marked 05, with the 5 missing enough ink to look like a 3. Mine came with the M-16 carrier, and I doubt any 03 made Colt had that. I think a whole batch of April 05 guns went out, Clyde's caught up on their back log quite suddenly. Got mine from Clyde's, good people to deal with. |

Thanks DrewH for reply & comments..I suspected as much also..but put a 5X magnifying glass on the Apr 03..and it still looks like 03 to me...and I also thought it certainly must be a convoluted/distorted number "5"..but still can't be absolutely sure...I agree Clyde's Armory is a great business to deal with..very helpful and knowledgeable!! Out of curosity how long ago did you obtain your Colt LE6920 from them and how long were you on their waiting list before delivery??hanksh.gif |
The "O" is the chrome vendors mark, as required by the US Mil Spec, Meaning the company that did the barrel chrome lining marks the barrel as such |
