Just posting these here again:

One day I'd like to build a clone of the SCAR A or B variants.  Seems like it wouldn't be hard anymore with the 694x series being released.  But I really like the look of the non-step cut 14.5" barrel on these for some reason.

I want one of those rear sights soooo bad...

I've never quite figured out using a folding front sight and a fixed rear.

I was thinking the same.  Unless it was just a place holder or mil-requested for some odd reason.

Personally not a big fan of fixed rears in general - though I love fixed fronts.

My LMT BUIS tries to sneak on to my CQBR clone all the time, but it always ends up coming off before I even get to the range.

Unfortunate, IMHO, that Colt won't offer the 694x series with a fixed FSB, but c'est la vie.  I like the SCAR submissions just because it's an interesting prototype / part of the platform's history, though.  The 1911-style selector levers are interesting, too.  Would love to try that out, just to see how it differs from the standard selector lever configuration.

Would also be interesting to see the 694x series offered in an FSP or MRE type monolithic configuration.  Or with extended rails in general.

If they put a 12" rail over a gas block they would be on to something.

For me a fixed front is a must.

For a rear, fixed or flip-up work fine. If I'm running an ACOG though, I want a flip-up rear.

My attraction to the Colt SCAR trial BUIS is just the fact that it exists and no one has them. I don't think there are more than a handful of them out there and I would love to have one.

So either a stupid question or bad assumption.... Did the Tyoe A submission, minus a few features, become the 6940
