Shorter barrels on the monolithic upper are definitely coming out.

BUT WHAT ABOUT A WRENCH TO CHANGE THEM WITH???
I know shawn, they're coming soon... You been saying that for about 8 months now. I've been waiting a year. Ever since I bought my 6940.

Colt SCW & 9mm Defender

What about the buffer and spring on the folder???
How does that work?
Will it fire while folded?

It may have been me who was saying that short barreled 6940 uppers are coming out known as the 6943ck.. I was told this by Clydes Armory sometime ago.  Regardless, I didn't get the impression that the SCW folder would be available for civvy purchase as it is associated with a select fire weapon.

Cheers

The SCW folding stock requires a different bolt carrier, in which the buffer spring is apparently attached to the carrier.

Here is a promotional video showing how the SCW stock works (at the end).

One of Colt's people at Media Day told me that the Colt SCW (Sub Compact Weapon), or at least the short buffer tube and foldable stock, will be coming to a semi-automatic civilian legal rifle.

Sorry Shawn. Didin't mean to piss in your tea. I was just making light of how long we've been waiting for Colt to get some pigs flying.

Hell I take your input as probably the most credible around here.

your right guys. as a paid spokesperson for colt and all companies that provide tools  to work on colt parts but have no other connection to colt, i bare all blame. Add to that the fact I am personally the head tech manager for the company that will make the  barrel tool  and  will assemble them myself. I also  deserve the frustration of guys that want to  swap barrels on a gun  thats been out now 1 year. its just an unreasonable time to wait. for guys that shouldnt have gotten a 6940 in the 1st place if they wanted a differnt barrel after I posted in the  6940 pics and news thread before it hit market that the  barrel nut would not be standard as told to me by colt defense

from now on I swear to  PM everyone thinking about  buying a 6940  and tell them the barrel nut is not standard and personally apologize that I cant make the toll come out faster, even though  its obvious I am the one holding it up.

to all the colt forum guys i humbly cry your pardon for always giving out bad info  and making production delays because of my laziness

thats touching   for a back handed insult from a noob

what did you mean  by "we been waiting" ? I could not give a shit less about the barrel tool. I like mine just the way it is and  if I want a differnt length  I will buy it as a complete gun if/when they offer it. I only   called fr that info for  the guys in here I consider friends that want to change barrels

WHEW!!! I thought I was gonna have to go back to the General Discussion thread.

And I really didn't want to have to do that.

Especially with all the Kool-Aid I drink.

So, it's O.K. if I stay and play? Even if I got one of those grips that shawn thinks is funny on my 6921?

I don't believe I bothered to read another one of these threads. They're all the same. Out of the millions of Colt rifles out there, 8 or 10 people have posted this "diminished quality" nonsense. I am probably one of the pickiest people when comes to my guns. And I want them to look perfect when I buy a new one. And every single Colt (rifles and pistols) of mine has been an absolute piece of art out of the box. After I play with them though they have a slightly different aesthetic appeal.

As far as the OP's rifle goes, if it bothers you that much that you'll get on here and bitch about it, then send it back.

If I got one that looked that bad in person I would. But then again I can make anything look like crap with the right camera, lens, and lighting.

How come I can never get one of the limited edition collector models with the crop circles?
