Hi, My friend and I both have JT Distributing kit rifles. I have a fixed 4-position stock and my friend has the fixed M4 stock. Do these stocks share enough parts in common with the "real" collapsibles that they can be converted? If so, could you give details on what we'd need to do? Based on a quick glance, I think my faux-CAR stock is going to be more work. The M4 stock, though, looks like it should be relatively easy to convert to a working collapsi-stock. Any help would be appreciated! |

Depending on which generation fixed CAR stock you have will determine how easy it would be to fix. We are trying to get all of the details and get a refurb kit ready to turn them into working CAR stocks. For purely informational purposes (until the crime bill sunsets) if one was to drill out the roll pin that holds the stock in position on the newer post ban stocks, then replace the non slotted CAR tube with a slotted one and you'd be ready to go. The older ones are missing the locking mechanism as well. Jesse |

All of our stocks use the commercial non-Colt diameter tubes. You'll need the locking mechanism, it probably has a bit of deformation where the screw was installed. I bet you'll be able to clean that up without much problems. That's our early post ban CAR stock that you've got there. It shouldn't be too hard to have back up and running. Jesse |

We're still figuring that out what it will cost to re-run the tubes for the channel and recoating on the newer ones, we're hoping to get the cost to around $20. The older style with the full length tubes should be closer to being around $35. Jesse Disclaimer: These are preliminary estimates and may not be accurate to the actual cost once all factors are added in. |
Hell, it don't cost nothing to put Gary on the mill, to STFU, and start making the damn chanels and detent holes.

I'm still waiting on the price quotes and delivery time on converting those (from a local shop that is not involved in the gun industry to tell us the infamous 2 weeks time frame It almost sounds like I'm complaining about being busy.Jesse |
