| Two parts that I think would be cool, a pinch that would round over the rivet that holds the front sling swivel on. Second there is a round block that the military uses that has slots and grooves that hold the M16 so work can be done on different parts. I.E if you where replacing the sling swivel. There is a picture of it in TM 05538C-23&P/2 |

The sling swivel rivet tool that UnusSupra1 mentioned is at the top of my list. Other items I'd like to have: - barrel straightness gauge. - a full set of headspace gauges with the base milled so I won't have to remove the extractor before using them. - a wrench that will correctly fit the flash hider without rounding it off and without being so wide that it binds on (and scrapes the finish of) the crush washer. |

Seen the front sight fixture. I carved one out of wood a while back but I may order your fixture anyway because mine has gotten a little beaten up. I tool that'll correctly install the swivel rivets is what I really want. Something similar in design to a bicycle chain tool or a c-clamp so that you crank the rivet down. Be nice if it could be used to install swivels on the RRA side sling mounts in case I ever have one loosen up and need replacing but that isn't as necessary. |

I don't know how well that would work. I think that what we need is a punch that has a small 'nub' in the center (like the roll-pin punches), and a concave 'groove' cut around the tip. The tip would keep the punch centered on the rivet, and the groove would round over the sides of the rivet. I hope I'm explaining this so you can understand. | How about setting a small steel ball bearing on the cupped end of the rivet and then c-clamp it 'til it starts to spread the rivet outward. once the BB bottoms out, remove it and just C-clamp the rivet the rest of the way with the standard foot (if you havent already snapped it off). |
