Mark, I was wondering the availability and cost of a small batch of Dillos.
Recently, my partner did not show up for work which was very out of character for him. My Sgt. told me to go check on him, and upon doing so, I found his car at his apartment, but he wasn't answering the door. After several minutes I and a supervisor went in and found that my partner, at 34 years old had suffered a massive stroke. He was flown from a local hospital to a larger hospital where he remains. He is doing better and is beginning to respond to pain stimulus on his left side but he still cannot talk. There is nothing he loves more than serving the people and protecting the constitution. I can give you specifics and the website detailing his life as well as this incident via email, but I am just wondering about the cost (if this is even available) to get a commemorative Dillo honoring his commitment with simply his name, our department, and his badge number. Our department is approximately 120 sworn, but if this is cost prohibitive our shift is only 20. I fell these would be a great way to keep him in our thoughts and prayers and a reminder of how he will ALWAYS be a cop regardless of his ability to police. Thanks for your time. |

Thanks for your time. xachary82, While looking into who it is ripping into me over nothing over in the precision rifle forum, I found this missed thread of yours. I suppose title didn't tell enough to get me to slow my run-by back in April. You posted this about the time the widow of a fallen officer contacted us about a custom run of donated Dillos we made last year. She had found a couple being sold on the Internet and decided we had profited and hinted at suing us for using said officer's name. . Seemed innocent enough at the time for a good cause ... but the widow was never told by anyone in that far away state. They approved the graphic, we hammered them out, boxed and shipped them. End of story ... oh wait.
Anyhow, had I seen this thread of yours then, I would have gone "Uh ..." ML |
