CMMG,

Just got my DPMS compatible lower last week. I have a question, when I look in my mag well there is s ring of raised material about half way down...are you cutting your mag wells with an end mill instead of a EDM or Broach?  The reason I ask is DPMS magazines will not drop free, they hang up on the ridge in the magwell, plus the lower mars the shit out of my magazines.

Is this really going to go unanswered?

I just purchased one of their lowers as well and noticed this ring....haven't tried mags in it yet but I think an answer to this question would be appropriate.......I hope I didn't purchase a bad lower.

Starting to think waiting on ordering this lower was a very good idea.

sorry guys, very backed up and only make it here one a week or so.  The mag wells are milled and so the line you see is normal tooling marks.

Well, I guess as a bit of feed back.  The "normal" tooling mark is stopping my DPMS magazines from dropping free.  Otherwise the lowers look clean, with a nice deep black color.

Just picked my lower up today and tried a few new DPMS mags in it and they all drop free without issue.  Sounds like you may have one that slipped through QC on accident or  it's the mags that are the issue.

I have had quite a few bad DPMS mags lately.  We went through 15 new mags to find 3 that would function properly.  Looks like there is a bad batch floating around..

Well all of my DPMS magazines are from lots between 2004 and 2006.  I would like to know, before anyone's quality is to be called into question, does anyone have the true .308 magazine spec?  I would like to know what magazine spec (width +/-, thickness +/-) the lower was designed to (DPMS?), so I can check mine, and for personal knowledge.
