To give everyone the skinny, I consider myself a totally neb. I belong to a different forum, and I shared what is going on with my rifle over there. I decided to get a second opinion.

I purchased a DD M4V5 brand new from my LGS and after taking it home and upon further inspection I noticed a few things about the fit and finish. Overall I think it is an amazing rifle, but these few things I noticed urked me. It is still new in box I havent shot it yet, however I am completly ocd about everything in my life including my firearms. Some of these pics are duplicates so I apologize.

The first thing is the shell deflector. It looks somewhat "wavy". There is also a small spot that I found on the trigger guard where the roll pin sits. There is a knick in on the inside of the lower, probably from installation of the trigger group, but cannot be seen when the rifle is assembled. The most noticable to me is the front of the mag well. It looks as it there was an imperfection and they attemtped to grind it out or somethjing.

Before anyone flames me for my "safe queen mentality" can I just please have a few honest opinions on what Ive got here. Keep in mind that I paid a premium for this rifle and I expect a premium product. I aquiered the Daniel Defense by trading up and also putting down more cash. I traded in a Sig M400 and made an upgrade, however the Sig did not have any imperfections of this kind.

So please, tell me what you think, your feedback is appreciated.

The pics are in the album that are in my original post.

Also they are on a company wide vacation for the 4th of July so I am not able to contact them until the start of next week.

I clicked on your link. It shows both albums as empty, no pictures.

Never mind, just saw the pictures. I didn't see anything that you need to worry about. Go shoot it.

Holy shit.  Why on earth would anyone ever want to go into the firearms business?  The customers tend to be the biggest, whiniest bunch of babies in the world.

I see nothing on concern in any of those pictures.

That being said I would be willing to bet they would work with you and make sure you're satisfied.

Your thread was closed in the AR discussion. I am surprised you keep the complaints coming without waiting to see what DD will do.

IMO, everything is fine with it except the imperfection to the finish on the inside / top of the lower receiver. Curious what caused that.

I feel obligated to tidy this up. Their customer service is 2nd to none and they will bend over backward to make things right, whatever the magnitude of the problem. They didn't ask one question in regards to the severity or lack there of, of the problem I had. I filled out a return/exchange form on the website and within 2 hours had a shipping label for the rifle. The following Monday they emailed me informing that they would be replacing the entire rifle. The turnaround time was less than two weeks and I am very impressed not only with the short amount of time , but also their outstanding service and communication. Because of the weekend I will not receive it until Monday, however I am confident the new one will have zero issues. When yhe time comes to go shopping again, there is no doubt in my mind that DD will be at the top of my list.

I've been thinking of getting a 2nd AR and have been looking at a lot for Daniel Defense models. I have seen any flaws but I keep hearing how great this company is and the customer service. This thread is even more proof. Daniel D is at the top,of my list and right now only thing that would keep me from buying one is if I decide on a piston AR which Daniel D doesn't manufacture.
