I bought a 20rd FDE Pmag recently from Brownells and finally got around to looking at it Fri morning.  There is a defect in the mag near the bottom that looks like it happened during the mold process.  Does not appear to be a handling issue as the bag is in perfect shape, it looks like it's degrading.

Is this something that I will need to be addressed by Brownells or can ya'll swap out a new for this one and I'll send you the messed up one?  I know you guys like inspecting problems/defects.

I will snap a pic Sat afternoon and put it in this post.

I ordered two 30rd mags as well and they appear to be 100%.  I'll take them out and inspect them Sat morning though I doubt they were on the same run as the 20rd mags.

ETA - Fuzy Pics still have yet to figure out the damn Micro.

Is it a little divot in the front of the mag body near the base plate? I have that spot on all 5 of my 20's I assumed it was from the mfg process.

I guess that could be considered small.  Just not to fond of how it looks and it appears to be a weak spot.

Structurally it doesn't appear to be a weak spot(IMHO you could probably drill a hole there and not experience a measurable difference in structural integrity) , I believe it is an injection point for the polymer to enter the mold (they normally look like those point are cut away from the mag, but that one looks like it was broke away, but either way I would say it's gtg).

This came up here the other day. It's part of the manufacturing process. Nothing to worry about.  The mark is the result of a self trimming gate, part of the molding process. Will not effect funtion or performance.

Cheers.

So looking at the 30rd and the 20rd it appears that the cutting point is about the same location on both, but the 20rd is just shorter.

I'll just fill it with epoxy I guess.  Has this been addressed with current runs or was this a fluke run?

Don't fill it with epoxy unless you find the 1mm x 4mm area to be an eye sore.  The blemish is an intentional result of the self trimming gate on the P20.  Advanced designs and tech may eleaveate this issue in the future. The P30 use a different method of trimming therefore it looks slightly different.

Overall, it's a very minor cosmetic feature that is a result of manufacture.  It will have no effect on funtion.
