Why would they want to deal with 5 to 12 magazine orders and associated customer service when they can ship out thousands at a time to retailers and wholesalers with less headache?  I'd rather they spend their time manufacturing.

Pro:
1) They have a retail system in place.
2) They are leaving money on the table.

Con:
1) No one likes dealing with Retail Customers and their complaints.
2) It's generally considered bad to steal business from your dealers.

Primary reason not to even consider the question:
They are already selling every magazine that they can make and in the current environment an investment in increased manufacturing capacity is a risky investment.

I dont think they are, I'm pretty sure they are selling every single mag they can make, as fast as they can make them, pulling out handfuls for direct customers right "now" i dont think is a real concern

I wouldn't want to compete with my distributors and retailers.

It's kind of like how hobby shops have to compete with the only source, Tower Hobbies.

Also remember you'll end up paying more from direct sales. You won't get free shipping or anything like that. They can sell them as cheap as they can (normal MSRP of course) because dealers/distributors buy in large numbers and that helps offset their shipping/production costs.

They've already said that they plan to iirc.

Where did you see that at? As far as I remember on their Facebook page they said that they aren't really set up for website direct sales and it would take them too long to process orders. Lets say at this point they even did open up retail sales from their site. Do you realize that you'd still be waiting? Brownells was said to have sold 3.5 years worth of PMAGs and Magpul themselves were at 1,000,000 backorders (may be to read magazines). If you haven't already ordered or backordered your PMAGs you might never get them at this point. LOL.

OEven if they programmed direct sales into their site, i dont think you'd get mags any faster. There are 2.4 million (eg) mags ahead of yours, and i dontthink they'll let you cut in line.
