Last Friday, I placed an order for an Aimpoint M4s on an LT659 mount. I've placed several orders with LaRue and every other time my expectations have been exceeded. Unfortunately, not this time.
Monday I received the following email: PSI, Your order number xxxxxx at Larue Tactical has been updated. Order status: backordered Order comment: Aimpoints are on order and we are currently waiting for delivery information. No firm ETA is available at this time. Browse to the following page to login to your account and view your details:--- Thanks again, LaRue Tactical The Dead Center of Precision To which I replied: I understand that you have been swamped with orders over the EoTech thing. But really? Your system can’t track inventory and let customers know you’re out of stock prior to submitting an order? Many really small “Mom and Pop” businesses can do that. You make and sell quality products that are worth the wait. As I will now wait. Your products are just that good. I have ordered from you several times and have the hats to provide it. It’s not that I wouldn’t have placed the order, because I would have. But finding out you didn’t have the stock until three days later is disappointing. You certainly haven’t lost a customer, but you’ve let one down a little. PSI 51 hours later, I got nothing. I understand they must be literally buried right now. But this lack of communication, both during the order process and since their order status change, is a let down. Being a business owner, I understand busy. I understand getting slammed, fighting back the alligators and not being able to find the drain-plug to the swamp. What I don't understand, in today's whizzbang electronic age, not having a handle on inventory, not communicating availability to customers and not responding to customer feedback. Again, the wait isn't an issue. The lack of communication is. |

Actually, no. Please point out the "When you place an order, it is immediately shipped, or placed into backorder." part of the order confirmation. I see a status of "PENDING", which could mean in the process of being filled. Or, back-ordered. But I do not see either, "immediately shipped" or "backorder". So, number 7 appears to be a bit of a misnomer. Hmmm, did your card get charged? Do you need it today? What response do you think they owe you? I have a ridiculous amount of charges to my card pending LT orders that are back ordered from bipod to can and soon an upper or two. Worth the wait IMHO. No No Common business courtesy of timely notice of availability prior to placing the order and later acknowledgement of my communication. I believe I stated to them, and here, it's worth the wait. It's the lack of timely communication that I did not expect from an usually customer focused company. |

A) The LT website does not give any indication of stock levels. When you place an order, it is immediately shipped, or placed into backorder. If you call the shop, they can check if something is in stock. See question #4 above. |
| It's a legitimate gripe IMO. Most who are new to ordering from LaRue are not familiar with the lack of active inventory. It's simple to tell someone to sit and wait or just call and cancel but it's a needless hassle and further bogs down CS when people have to call the shop just to ask if what they want is in stock or not. |

Clearly stated the wait is worth it. Just a comment. You act like you're their corporate counsel or bouncer. |

I've placed numerous orders, both online and by telephone. I suppose I was fortunate that every other time it was in stock. Now I know what to expect, or more accurately what not to expect, when they're out of something. |

Bingo. Unfortunately sometimes I order from other vendors when I can quickly confirm if something is in stock or not. Plenty of less sophisticated websites or much smaller businesses effectively use the active inventory software. |

You can't say a negative word without getting jumped. LT makes good products and I frequent their industry section for information, but some of the guys here rate Mark and LT right up there with God, or even higher. |
