Does anybody have the Delton Dissipators? From what I could gather, it uses a rifle length gas tube but with a 16' barrel... anyone have issues with cycling? Thanks

IIRC, they opened the gas hole up a bit to solve function problems

Thanks. Anyone else have experiences with the dissipators?

put almost 1000 rounds through mine. zero issues.

Yep, we do use a 16" barrel with a standard length gas tube.  We open up the gas port to improve cycling.

Cool, thanks a bunch! Any idea when they'll be in stock?

I'm also curious if they are in stock or will be soon.

We don't have any right now, all the barrels we're doing are going towards back orders.  Saying that, we just shipped Midway two skids of dissapator kits and uppers, so check with them!!  That's my best advice right now!

Is yours setup as a carbine?   Which buffer weight are you using?  I just bought the upper from Midway but not sure what buffer to use?

I bought my entire del-ton dissy rifle kit from midway and I've had zero issues with reliability and I've got 1,110 rounds through mine.  I've shot factory ammo, but for the most part I run my own handloads of 69gr matchkings.  My dissy has done everything I've ever asked of it and if I ever needed to grab a gun in the middle of the night it's the one I'd reach for.

I bought a del-ton stripped lower off of CTD and it was slightly out of spec by the rear take down pin and I had to dremel out the pin because it was just missing the detent.  Otherwise, all of my experience with Del-ton has been great.

I'm using the standard buffer that came with the build kit.

Not sure which buffer I'm running but I have had FTF and failure of bolt locking open on an empty mag. These failures happen with PMC .223 not any store bought 5.56 or my hand loads. I've gotten out of mine 5 rounds @ 2.25" at 300 yards. Of course that was with hand loads on a near to no wind day. My barrel really opens up bad after it heats up. by no means is this a competition barrel but for cold bore shots it was really worth the money. Even with store bough ammo Im close to 1" shot groups at 100 yards.

Oops! I'll post pics as soon as I take em! I've had multiple FTE and chamber (almost every other round), and this is with the carbine buffer included with the rifle kit from midway. I was shooting Silver Bear 62gr HP, haven't tried brass yet (range I went to only allowed HP, in which all my brass is FMJ). Sucks cuz S.B. runs in all of my other AR's just fine...

Finally, I put the whole rifle together but I haven't had a chance to go to the range yet, too busy with work.  It might be a few weeks before I have free time on the weekend to go to the range I bought just the upper from Midway and I have the Armalite standard carbine buffer and Armalite buffer spring.  I asked the customer service at Del-ton about the buffer weight and the lady said the gas port is opened up for the rifle length gas tube and standard carbine buffer should work.  Now, it make me wonder if I am going to have issue.  I will like hear to how it runs with brass.  Maybe I will go to walmart buy a can of the XM855.  I am wondering how it works with Silver Bear, MFS and Wolf Military Classic.

I got out to shoot my Dissipator upper a couple weeks ago. Would not cycle Wolf or Brown Bear reliably - 1 or 2 rounds, then short stroke. BUT ran 100 rounds of PMC brass 100%. Slow fire, rapid fire, no difference - cycled every time. Only issue would be that the bolt would sometimes not lock back on the bolt catch after the last round - it would catch on the mag follower. I'll chock this up to having an H buffer in there. Replaced the buffer with a standard weight, but have not shot it like that yet.

I like it. I have a couple 16" midlengths with Rainier XTC comps on them and they don't shoot as soft as this dissipator.

Only complaints are that I'd like it to cycle the Brown Bear - but that's not that big a deal - I understand it's most likely set up to shoot real 5.56 loads; and that this sucka is heavy...  H profile with the FSB way out there makes for a triceps workout. A Govt profile barrel would be fantastic. Might have it reprofiled to cut some weight out.
