| My fsb leaks is this something I should be woried about. The gun functions perfectly no ftf or fte. I herd that the carbon will seal the leak but after 800rds it still leaks. I am concerned with the gases eroding the barrel or fsb. The gas leaves carbon spray foward and almost in a complete circle around the barrel. I sent this barrel in once the front sight was canted and you fixed it. I use this gun every week so if ths is not a real problem I do not want to send it in for repair. I have no picts I have already cleaned it but I will be out next week if you need picts. |

Perfedctly normal (unless excessive) and not an issue. The OD of the bbl and the ID of the FSH can't be exactly the same because you wouldn't be able to get the housing onto the barrel. The minimal gap that has to exist between the bbl and housing is the source of your leak-by, and exists on every AR-style rifle to a greater or lesser extent. The ammo used will also make a difference in the quantity of leak-by that you see due to the burn rates of different powders. Steve/RRA |
