I contacted Silencer Shop about not finding the AAC Shim Kit for 5.56 and was informed they are out right now and very nicely gave me the name of some places that may have them. They also said timing was not required for flash hiders.

I use this rifle primarily for night hunting using either a Gen III weapons scope or a thermal weapons scope. In the case of the Gen III I was thinking I wanted to time the hider such that one of the three prongs would be on top to give me the best flash attenuation when running without the suppressor (Saker 7.62).

Has anyone done some experiments to see if timing has an impact on NV gears response to flash?

I've always used the Smith Enterprise FH in the past and lined one of the prongs up and of course never had any problem...but that doesn't mean I would have problems if they weren't lined up.

If no ones tried this I'll give it a shot (pun intended), but is someone already has there's no sense in wasting the ammo duplicating their effort.

Thanks!
