If I can put a bushmaster upper on my Colt lower does that mean I have the .250 pivot pin? (mine is the screw type)  So that means I can put the late model colt uppers on like the MT6731 upper on right?

Yes. If you don't need any adapters for the Bushie to Colt receivers then you shouldn't need anything different to install the MT6731 upper. I'm pretty sure Colt had switched to small hole uppers by the time they introduced the MT line.

Yes, the MT era had standard .250 dia pivot pins. If you fence is drilled for it, you may also be able to install a captive pivot pin and do away with the two piece screw one.

My pre-ban Colt Sporter also has the .250" pivot pin but it uses the screw instead of the push-pin, but I have since converted it to a std. push pin.

As long as your lower is drilled for the detent and spring (mine was) you are all set.

You can get the parts right from Brownell's

You need these parts;

SP61698 pivot pin detent
SP61692 pivot pin detent spring
SP62221 pivot pin, push type .250"
