| @PrimaryArms so are these being replaced by something new in the future or should I we just try to source one on the used market? These were regularly considered one of the best MPVO's on the market. |

Whatever replacement you're working on, I would be very happy with the same beloved scope with the Griffin MIL reticle you had before at the price...WITHOUT A CHEVRON. (And NOT an SFP Nova.) I get it, ACSS chevrons are Primary Arms' signature specialty and brand identity (but they doesn't have to be). The theory of it briefs well. In practice...I and many others hate it. It's one of the main drawbacks of your optics that often have little to criticize. Please just give us a little dot. This applies to the whole line of optics, including your LED micros (we can't accurately call many of them "red dots," can we?). Also, thin out the horseshoe a bit. Both the chevron and horseshoe obstruct more than they need to in order to serve their purpose. Note what NightForce has done with centers of the DMx reticle. Refine your reticles more in that direction. Keep all the other features that the Griffin MIL had...but thin out the horseshoe and swap the chevron for a dot. Offering it in a nice matte FDE would be great also, but is a distant priority compared to the reticle issues. |

Strongly disagree with that. The Chevron is what makes this scope work and differentiates it from other scopes in this mag range. My times on drills with the Griffin at 2.5x are equal to an Eotech Vudu at 1x. Most MPVO's have a center portion that is nowhere near bold enough for dynamic offhand shooting. Personally I would be happy if they could take the 2.5-10, make it a 2.5-15, and improve the turret locking mechanism while maintaining roughly the same weight. I have a feeling that is too big of an ask and the replacement optic will probably be less usable than the Griffin 2.5-10 was. |
