So I put this upper together months ago. When installing the gas block the set screw nearest the receiver went in very easily, but the second one was VERY VERY hard to put in, being an idiot I thought maybe the thredding was a little screwed up, I think it was non existent now because it sheared the hex bit I was using, because of this the gas block is only being held on by 1 set screw...

Now I do NOT want to pin this. Here is 200-300 rounds worth of gas leaking. Am I ok, what should I do? To be clear the upper works perfectly, no issues.

Also, my newer MK4 rail that I got during the black friday sale is missing a washer on the one bolt, can I possibly get a replacement?

Damn remembered to call 5 minutes ago. Seems like you guys quit a little early today, or got off (hope you did).

Was at the range and it finally "failed" started slipping forward turning it into a bolt action. I will call Monday, if I remember

My unfinished gas block had a similar problem. The set screws were getting too tight to thread through. I called up and spoke with a tech and they offered to let me send it back in. Instead, while on the phone, I asked what tap size it was supposed to be then ran the appropriate tap through it while the guy was on the phone.  That did it. Seems like the tap just wasn't run through enough in production. Not sure if they use a CNC for this step. I think it's a 10-32 Tap but call them to check.

I had the same thing happen to a Troy, which I replaced with a Geissele (bit broke off). I put the upper in the freezer for a bit (the barrel nut was also giving me fits, even heat did nothing). I left it in the deep freezer for about an hour or two, then took it to the bench. After a prayer, the nut broke lose with ease, and that broken off bit fell out of the gas glock set screw.

Also, my Troy leaked BAD, however it never caused any issue with the rifle's operation. bigbore from ADCO told me that it was fine, and that it would eventually seal (which it did).

This was when it first started leaking, it got MUCH worse. Rifle still cycled fine with all ammo I used.

When I removed the rail, I saw that is was leaking at the front and back of the block, with the gas build up extending almost an inch from both sides. I wish I could have snapped a pic before I cleaned it all off and installed my Geissele Super Gas Block and SMR rail. The Geissele has been rock solid, no leaks.

Good luck Grim.
