Yes, the mid-length was designed with a triangle hand guard cap.

Doug,
I have a gently used MI Midlength for sale. Two piece quad rail, rock solid, very good shape. No dings or missing corners on the rails. Decided to go a different route with my latest build. I can email photos if interested.
