I picked up my first LBK a while back and was really happy with it. Great price and the trigger was nice and crisp. So I picked up another recently and the trigger is really gritty. Should there be such a difference when I order the same kit?

I recently ordered two of the premium lower build kits.  One of the triggers was silky smooth from the first pull, and the second was gritty as you describe.  After a couple hundred trigger pulls, the gritty trigger has begun to smooth out considerably.  I honestly don't know if anything can be done about it, as the imperfections that cause the gritty feeling are super small.  Someone with the patience of an oak, a laser-leveled eye and a steady hand may be able to improve a gritty trigger with some Flitz and a Q-tip, but I wouldn't recommend it- just shoot it.

This is not out of the ordinary for a Mil-Spec Trigger. You should feel lucky that you received at least one out of two.

Drop of lube on the bearing surfaces does wonders.  Typically they smooth up after use but it is a mil-spec trigger.  I just recently got a grinder myself.(a gritty trigger that is)

Thanks guys. I'll get a drop of lube on it. Didn't want to grind anything down as I'd probably remove the hardener and shorten the life of the metal. Hopefully, getting a few hundred pulls on it will smooth it out.

yeah, I wouldn't grind anything.  It will smooth up after you shoot it a bit.  I also hear someone has excellent FCGs on sale somewhere...............

Dry fire it 300 times and tell me if it feels the same. I noticed the exact same thing between different building kits ordered at different times but found working the trigger smoothed everything out.
