How well does a LaRue hadguard stay in place without the "anit rotation device?" It wont fit on my Sun Devil upper.

I've seen it discussed a few times on here before.  The consensus has always been that it will be fine.  The "keeper" is really just extra assurance.  I would trust it without the keeper 100% as long as the barrel nut is properly tightened.

Also, you may be able to modify the keeper slightly to fit (seems like I have seen that discussed as well).

ETA:  Sorry I can't give you any first had advice but I don't own a Sun Devil upper.

Sweet. I won't worry about it then.
The keeper cant be modified for the Sun Devil. The upper has an octagonal shape and the screws would never go in.

Maybe I was thinking about the VLTOR upper.  Again, I think you'll be fine without it.
