Greetings Magpul fans, Dr. Drake here. I’d like to bend your ear about a Law Enforcement Brother of mine, long time friend to Magpul, and husband and father, Chris Schmad. He has proudly and selflessly served the people of Colorado for 22 years as a police officer. During his tenure, Chris has filled many roles to include: SWAT Tactical Team member (14 years), SWAT Sniper (12 years), Department Firearms Training Coordinator, Firearms Instructor and Patrol Sergeant. Chris has dedicated himself to mentoring and training police officers around the country and building strong relationships with the community. He has helped countless people during his career and ensured our officers possessed the skills to survive. Chris is a true warrior who has helped teach survivability to others for years, now he needs our help. Chris has been privately battling Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis (PSC) for 9 years with only the support of his immediate family and a few close friends. Chris' 9 year battle has created a large amount of debt due to medical bills. In 2011, Chris received news from his doctors that, due to the damaging effects of PSC, he would require a liver transplant in 2012. Chris has chosen to obtain a new liver through a live donor transplant. Due to outward signs of his illness becoming apparent to those around him, Chris recently exposed his illness and need for a liver transplant to family, friends, and coworkers. Chris does have health insurance, but the liver transplant procedure will force his family to endure many ongoing out-of-pocket expenses. Chris' wife will also be out of work unpaid for several months as she cares for Chris and their two children during his lengthy recovery. If you feel inclined to help Chris and his family follow the link to donate. Magpul will match up to $5000 of donations over the next 72 hours. Give a little, give a lot. Anything helps. http://www.giveforward.com/chrisschmadlivertransplantfund |
| My personal thanks go to Dr. Drake and all the folks at Magpul! Donations are coming in from around the country. Just goes to show how respected Magpul is that folks will help someone they don't know. Chris has already posted a note to you all on the "hugs" tab of the website. |

Drake,
On the site it said matching funds were only for donations of $500 and over, but after the payment went through it listed "$100.00 matched by Magpul Inds. Corp. for $100.00 ". Just in case anyone is thinking they won't match a donation under $500 based on what the page says, Magpul is matching lower dollar amounts as well, you just don't see it until after the payment is sent to the server. For anyone who is on the fence about it, I'm a city cop and money is tight for me right now just like it is for a lot of other people, consider throwing even $5 into the pot to help out. I've got other charities that I support every month, but a one time donation isn't going to bankrupt me. Heck, this is so obviously the right thing to do, I didn't even have to get told to do it by my wife.

| Thank you to Magpul, Drake, and everyone for their donations and well wishes. Thanks to Magpul matching funds our fundraiser made $10,000 in just 3 days! Not included in the total are about $2000 additional in promised checks from others in the firearms industry. Chris and his family are truly grateful for the generosity of the many who pulled together to make this happen. It will be an honor to hand the check to Chris in the near future. Be safe and take care of each other. Greg |
