Despite what the rest of the community might want to say about the ACR, I was wondering what future projects (if any) are there going to be?

I thought it almost bankrupted them to design it.  And I thought they sold the design to Freedom Group.

We are still very proud of the Masada concept and especially the latest military version that Remington is putting forward as the next Carbine replacement for the US Military.

As the platform grows we expect to be able to offer more items for it.

Thats good.  When I heard about it way back I was excited with the original concept. It was truly revolutionary.  I am too looking forward to more accessories and parts so the original concept can come true.

I'm glad to here that. I was like so many skeptics out there that had a bad taste in their mouth but once I handled it and fired it, it's become one of my favorite rifles. My concern is the hinge on the folding stock seems real weak. I would love to see an improvement there and a strike plate like the M93/UBR have. A;so who is developing the current ACR forearm?

Remington/Bushmaster.  Busmaster sells to commercial Remington sells to LE/MIL.  But this is all done under the umbrella of Freedom Group.

So it sounds like I am still going to be waiting a while for rifle length handguards and a PRS stock for mine, huh? That sucks because I have such a hard on for turning my ACR into an SPR.

I for one really like the changes Remington has made to the ACR, hoping we will see gen 2 ACR's down the track.

Same here, and also a folding PRS or something like that.  Also a pistol stock like a hole plug for the receiver's stock connection with no real stock attached, instant PDW with a 10.5 barrel.

Although I am wondering about the future production of the Magpul Massoud,  I wonder if they have found a manufacturer yet or if it's put on hold.  I heard from someone who went to SHOT a year or two ago that when he talked to Chris about the Massoud that he said it was done but awaiting a manufacturer.  I was hoping for something like Massoud/OBR from LT or something like that but there is no word yet about any more Massoud related stuff.  Maybe if the ACR wins the carbine competition it will get more attention?

Actually... I was thinking and the thing that got me the most is the way is the charging handle thickness gets in the way. Perhaps something thinner with clearance to accept forward optics and lasers. What happened to the ambi charging handle that the Masada originally had. Can't complain about anything else really (except having to buy specialty pmags to match the rifle).

While doing research on the Masada, I see all the product sheets show the Masada was supposed to be ambidextrous with the charging handle.  I however have never seen pictures of a Masada with ambi charging handles.  Does anyone have a picture of a Masada with a charging handle on both sides?

There's a few in the official Masada picture thread. I'm not cool enough to copy them and post them here though. I saw a few of the original concepts had thinner charging handles, and looks ideally to what I'd like to see.

For the ACR?  I have a pile of mags, USGI, Pmags, Lancers, generic, etc, and they all work fine.

I meant colorwise. Don't mind having to order them from Bushmaster, but can't get them with windows and don't really like the logo on there.

Yeah it sucks living in CA and trying to find replacement PMAG's in coyote brown.

I would love to see a 45 degree selector, an ambidextrous sling mount replacement for the take down pin something like this with the ring reward offset to clear the pistol grip

And of course something you guys have already made before - rifle length hand guards because for tall people like me a forward grip means my hands around the barrel.

Do want!

I prefer the standard Basic handguard to both the Enhanced's rails and Remington's modular rail due the extra length and ergonomics. That longer handguard would make it even better and give me some room to mount a light at my preferred position.

When was that picture taken?

ETA: That looks like a late prototype due to the integral front sight and lack of shell deflector. Guess that means they dropped the idea a long time ago. Bummer.

The thing about it is that almost everyone wants it - when you look at the current trends its disapator setups that are the most popular. And the Scar extensions are getting alot of press and even more interest right now.

Looks like excess weight from unused rail sections. The plug and play rail space is the best way to go to keep modularity up and weight down.

[#20]
The hand guard extension and the forward grip it allows reduces the leverage the weight has on you. If you stretch out your arm and place an object at your elbow joint and move it out towards your hand it will seem like it's getting heavier. So while the scar version may add a few extra ounces if you utilize it by moving your grip forward the weight you perceive will firing it should seem less. You can take the side rails off though.

ahhhhh do want naow

I hear ya and it seems we're all waiting on a longer forearm. I just noticed that the pictured ACR had a UBR style lever on the stock... That would be awesome to see in a Gen II stock.
