If a shipping label was generated over the weekend (I have my tracking number) - when should that tracking number show up in the UPS system?
I would assume this evening some time. Anybody got experience with this? I know this isn't very "tech" related, and I apologize - I just dont do a ton of business with UPS and when I plugged in the tracking number over the weekend and again this afternoon I got a message that says "UPS could not locate the shipment details for your request. Please verify your information and try again later." I thought I would ask. Thanks,
*edit* I can logically work out the following series of events: 1. Order is put together and marked "complete" 2. Shipping label is generated (Tracking number created) 3. UPS doesnt pick up on weekends 4. UPS picks up Monday afternoon 5. UPS scans my package for the first time and thus begins the normal tracking routine. Is this about right? |

they have a game called "forklift hockey".... usually something expensive, un-insured and marked fragile is the puck.. gotta love ups.... yea.. i remember them playing that.. jeez they did all sorts of stupid shit.. fake walls and the like.. I hated having to walk round photographing those damn trailers.. |
| The hub doesn't scan the stuff from Palmetto(or any pickup) until the truck is unloaded at night. I know because my wife does this and has told me to quit crying when stuff isn't scanned until 8pm or later. I of course would tell her to hurry the fuck up then, but the couch has been quite uncomfortable lately so I've stopped. |

That's not where the tracking begins. It starts at the hub. You can check the time when he scanned it and see the time when it is first tracked and you'll see a difference. |

For us tracking starts when it enters our store. We enter it to UPS, so maybe our "system" is different. If you track this number through UPS, you'll see where I scanned it in to our system (12:50) then when our driver picked up at about 4 30. 1Z6089569092036552 |

They are scanned just before getting loaded into the semi's and that's when you get an estimated shipped date. |

And remember things get crazy this time of year. Your package just might not get to you when you think it should.
I had three packages delayed last week due to the BF/CM insanity - one (out of three) I shipped for work, one I was receiving at work, and one I was receiving at home. My work UPS driver said they had a full trailor they never even opened. I was amused by the entire thing. It would have been funnier if the tracking just said "I'm tired and going home, screw your package" instead of "The package was missed at the UPS facility". Glad they weren't packages from Palmetto, otherwise I'd have to come here and whine like an immature little bitch, call my credit card company and call the BBB. |
| I ordered a vortex red/green sight on Black Friday and received a defective/broken item on 11/28/12. Shipping was fas,t probably because they wanted to get rid of said defective/broken product. I have called PSA to no avail since receiving it and today is 12/4/12. I sent my initial email on 11/28/12 explaining the problem which is the red dot does not work at all and there is a second green dot in the lens. I have only received an email 3 days later passing the buck off to the manufacturer. This don't call us call them after you take my money mentality is reprehensible. I haven't even mounted it yet waiting for some communication from PSA. I wish I could review a working product. I will steer clear of PSA and encourage everyone I know to do the same. It's a shame that we have criminals preying on customers outside of their home state. They don't even have the decency to communicate with their customers. Being too busy is no excuse. Their customer service is a disgrace. |
