So me and my little buddy Hubert spent the day at the canyon yesterday. This is Palo Duro Canyon which is a state park in Texas with those of you unfamiliar. It is second only to the Grand Canyon in the US in size and depth, and was started by the Red River. We hit about 15 miles and the weather was perfect.

Looks like some beautiful hiking country.  Reminds me of hiking along the Colorado River in the Imperial National Wildlife Refuge near Yuma Arizona, awesome scenery.

Here was my view of the world today:

It's crazy and beautiful at the same time OP!

(I lived in WF for a bit and the Armadillo region ain't exactly scenic either; however, Palo Duro Canyon is truly awesome... I've heard the summer show at the State Park is really worth going out of your way to see:  http://www.palodurocanyon.com/.)

Regardless, happy for me and sad for TX I actually shot some decent sows in the E-Canyon a couple of years ago (naturally w/ the aid of a LaRue/Trij combo):

Only "sad" for TX because of the devastation the hogs are doing... Never saw them up north in the 70's.  Good Lord, when the hogs make their way up here they'll destroy Rocky Ford and all the short-lived produce we can grow.

Looks like a great place to do some unknown distance shooting.
