Is the SSALT mount compatible with the SWFA SS HD 1-6x24? If so, any opinions about how this set up would hold up in a SCAR 17s?

Yes, it is compatible. However the side lugs maybe problematic with your charging handle on the left side.

I would suggest using the American Defense Delta mount and rotate it 180 degrees so it will be on the right side instead of the left.
