I am a little concerned that the wait might be much longer than estimated. How long are the .458 uppers taking, std upper, no options? |

I ordered mine through the LGS on 3-11 and was told 10-12 weeks. I havent contacted them since it has been a shade over 4 weeks thus far. I'll post back when mine comes in. I bought 40 rounds and reloading dies so i'm ready to go as soon as it is here. Good luck. Joe |
I'm going to use it deer hunting here in Missouri....I think it wil make a great brush gun in this caliber....I really like the AR platform and prefer something larger than .223 for hunting. What might be a useless cartridge to you will be very useful for me and the application I intend to use it for. As far as trouble from the word go...we'll see and I'll let you know how it works. The price of ammo is prohibitive, but I reload, and dont intend on shooting it as much as my .223 upper. I'll get proficient with it, but wont be shooting paper everyday with itJoe |

SBR in Georgia is making a lot of .458 SOCOM, in a variety of loads. A couple small makers are also involved. There are a couple of articles in major publications coming up on .458 SOCOM ammo. And, yes, one major manufcaturer has expressed interest. Whether or not they go forward with it is their business...but at least the interest is there. Steve/RRA |
Excellent, thanks for the update! I will be looking for the new articles. |
