I uh...might have cracked one of the side rail sections on my Gen2 SS 15" while tightening it down.
Do you guys sell the individual rail sections or even a new pack of the 3 that come with the rail? I only saw the 4.5" section on the website, but that's longer than I need. Thanks a lot guys, I love the rail. |
Pete, I had this same problem. After I broke the first one, I installed one of the other ones (using more pressure than it took to break the first one) with no problem. I sent you an email February 7th and never got a response. I guess I should have skipped straight to the forum ?

Thanks a lot guys, I love the rail. Hate to have to say it, but I am thinking that this might be a design flaw. I cracked two of them last night. The little sticker on the back of the packaging says 35 in-pounds. having read this thread, to be careful I had my torque screwdriver set to 25 or 26 in-pounds and one of them cracked; the first end was fine but the second cracked before the screwdriver clicked. So I turned the torque down a bit and tried the next rail section and it cracked on the first end before hitting the set torque. I am not too worried about it as I think there is a pretty good chance I won't even use them at all and if I do, the little cracks shouldn't hurt anything, but.... Y'all might give some thought to either a redesign OR calling out 20 in-pounds with blue thread locker. |
