Got my 3 MOA optic a couple days ago. Is the big "glob" at 8 o'clock normal? The optic is functional but the "glob" does partially obscure the sight picture through the glass.

WTF does that have to do with anything? It is the LED that produces the dot,

To the OP yes it is normal. Have you zeroed? The inner tube moves and when zeroed it probably will not stick out as much. Mount it up and go shooting. Remember both eyes open looking through the optic.

Here is the emitter on a T-1. I have to admit it is a neater blob.

Marshall, comparing apples to apples, the emitter on your Micro is about the same size as the T1. The emitter on my multi sticks out at least as much as the one on the 3moa does. I just never noticed it before because all I'm looking at is the dot. Shooting with both eyes open is the key here.

The multi does stick out more than the new CR2032 model. In addition to the LED the multis have the drum that projects the different reticles. You are right that in use with both eyes open it is less noticeable.

EDIT TO ADD; As I have said this is a off the shelf model from the new factory. I will ask them to source a flatter LED for the Gen II
