Is there anyway to know if this is real Colt or just some other brand that someone has engraved a C on?

9mm Flat Upper

I don't know if the new flattop 6450's will have T marks or not. If they do have T's, then my guess is someone put 9mm parts on a MT6700 upper.

It has no forward assist, no gas tube hole. Its a 9mm upper. Marked with a C stamp like some 5.56 uppers.

It looks the part no doubt. But since this is the only one I have seen it makes me worry..... Whats to say this is not a RR 9mm upper that someone has engraved a C on to copy Colt's new design?

You're right. I missed that.

Does the font of the C stamp look the same as others from Colt to you guys?  I thought the flat top 9mm uppers from Colt were something new/still to be released?

It looks like a Colt upper to me. Also as I understand it, Colt has made at least one run of flattop 9mm uppers. I'm still unsure on the T marks, but at this point I'm guessing the flattop 9mm doesn't have them. Again that's just a guess.

Honestly, the whole 9mm thing doesn't float my boat, so I haven't spent a lot of time staying up to date on what's actually happening with them. I probably shouldn't even be posting in here.

Real.  Definitely not engraved, it's stamped.

It's real, I recentlly bought a new Colt M16-A4 barrel from him.
He has a contact at Colt and get factory parts from them.

Got confirmation. It's real, but it's one of the early production 6450 uppers. The current production 6450's have T marks.

Yep, that's Colt. Commonly known around here as " The C stamp from hell " -W

Because Colt doesn't actually sell them- therefore they're rare as hens teeth.

There's no denying that.

I don't care. I'd wait for them to become available before I even dreamed of paying that much for a receiver.

Loved your e-mail thread, BTW.
