I was the winner of a free BCG (thank you LaRue you badasses you) from a UHFO thread a few months ago.

I have used it on 3-4 occassions and on all occasions after 1-2 mags it starts to have feed problems, and isnt cycling all the way back. Tried different oil, mags, ammo, etc and seems to only be tied to the bolt. When I swap back to my original OBR bolt the problem stops. Thoughts? Ideas on this?

clarification please..

You won a LaRue BCG (Not the one that comes standard in the OBR and PredatAR)
You put it in your OBR and it does not cycle?

Have you tried changing the buffer?

Are you sure its the carrier and not the bolt? I always figured that with the xtraxtion chamber it had a special bolt? Could be wrong though.

Why would you put that BCG in an OBR anyways?

That is correct BCV,

I put it in to test it out, thinking that it should work the same as the stock one from my OBR.

@ JCJC - My thought process was  : "Hey I have a LaRue Factory OBR and this is a LT BCG, so it should be swappable right?"

This thought process was obviously wrong. What things might I need for changing out the buffer, jsut a new one, or should I get a new spring as well?

Why wouyld it work for 1-2 mags and then stop working, and only half cycle though, thats the part Im finding weird.

There are a lot of factors that can contribute. I would stick to using the bolt that it came with, and the carrier. The chrome is more slick than the oxide on the stock LT bcg. These parts also mate to each other during operation, and switching them out seems less than ideal to me. I would only do it in an emergency situation.

I still don't get changing BCGs on the rifle where a change isn't needed. If it ain't broke, why fix it?

As for the two mag issue. Can you provide a bit more detail such as ammo used, spring installed currently, mags used, etc?

I think he was just trying to see if it worked or not... I can understand that!

Shits all got to be broke in.  Squirt some more oil on it and keep shooting it till it works.

Now that being said, I really couldn't finish this post without saying that telling someone to try changing buffers and springs to make a back up BCG work is the second stupidest damned thing I've heard today.  Wft sense does that even make anyway?  Makes my head hurt.

You might upgrade the extractor spring - fixed my LaRue BCG right up.  I was having an issue - always on the 3rd mag after cleaning/lubing it would start having FTE issues where the spent cartridge was extracted from the chamber but wasn't held securely long enough to be ejected.

ETA:  I called and Alfred was extremely helpful with troubleshooting the issue and identifying the potential fix.
