So I noticed my barrel was rusting so I took off my Gen 1 2 piece FF rail. When I went to put it back on I screwed in the four screws on the piece that goes onto the barrel nut, and the fourth one stripped the threads right off of the rails I didn't even tighten them that much. What I found odd was that the three previews screws were tighten more then the fourth one which stripped.
Am I going to have issues down the road? The screw goes in almost all the way but doesn't tighten anymore and it just kind of sitting there. I put extra locktite on it though
Is it possible that the threads where in a soft spot on the metal, because I seriously didn't tighten it much at all. |

Sounds like that screw was over-tightened in the previous installation. Two choices to repair, tap for over sized screw and use over sized screw, or tap for over sized "helicoil" type thread repair insert and use original screw if it has a pitch that the helicoil insert does. |

Thats the thing. I never tighten screws really hard. I let locktite do the rest for me. I installed it last year so its not like it was so long ago I dont remember a thing. |

First call the shop if you need another set of screws. Second of you want to remove the screws and ensure there will be no damage to them do not use loctite. I will get you out another set of screws THANKS TROY MI But my rail came with a thing of locktite? I'm using the blue stuff which says removable. I will try a new set of screws first. |

I cannot count how many screws I have ham-fisted & over-tightened in my life. But I am slowly figuring out how not to do it. |
