after receiving my shiny new T1 and mount combo from larue and
realizing that the dot was not in fact deformed or broken, just my eyes,
I have now realized that there is a small amount of play in the mount when locked down.
By small I mean if I take the upper off and grab the t1 I can feel movement. Should I try to tighten
the bolt? Should there be zero movement even when intentionally trying to move the mount?
thanks for any help

Isn't there an adjustment nut? Or Allen screw? If that's the bolt you are talking about, then yes.  Open lever and turn nut (or screw)a very little.  I believe the instructions say 1/8 of a turn.  Close the lever.  Check it.  Open.  Adjust.  Rinse and repeat.  I adjusted mine so that it takes some pressure to close the lever.

Does it feel like the T-1 is loose on the mount or is the mount loose on the upper ?

Or is the movement between the upper and lower?

Are you putting this on a LaRue rail product?

Bottomline: There should be no movement.

I put a LT T-1 mount on a brand x AK rail and it was a terrible fit. The AK rail was not to spec.

what a dummy--the mount was loose on a mil spec rail from yankee hill.
All I had to do was tighten the bolt a good turn or two but its rock solid now.
thanks for the help
